North Mitrovica: Support to Vucic (KoSSev)

Dozens of citizens have gathered yesterday in vicinity of the main bridge in North Mitrovica  in protest to the statements made by the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama during his visit to Belgrade. The rally was attended by mayors of North Mitrovica, Zvečan/Zveçan, Leposavić/Leposaviq and the head of Kosovska Mitrovica District.

No incidents were reported, whereas vehicles of EULEX, KFOR and UN were noted in vicinity of the venue.

With regard to billboards that appeared yesterday morning all over Serb-majority settlements in Kosovo, KoSSev learned from the coordinator for the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities, Ljubomir Maric, that Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is due to visit Kosovo and Metohija in December, and that his visit was announced earlier. He also explained and who is behind the billboards: “Citizens have most probably organized themselves, since they are eager to welcome Serbian Prime Minister in December, in a visit which was announced earlier,” said Maric. “First of all they want to show who their prime minister is, and that one is the Prime Minister of Serbia,” said Maric.

In the meantime KoSSev unofficially learned from a source close to Serbian Government that even though they’ve seen billboards announcing Vucic’s visit, they still don’t have such information but didn’t exclude such possibility.
