Stojanovic: Kosovo Serbs to decide after talks in Belgrade (Tanjug)
BELGRADE - Branimir Stojanovic, Kosovo deputy prime minister, said on Saturday that representatives of Kosovo Serbs will decide on further participation in Kosovo institutions after a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic next week.
"We are focused on the meeting with Prime Minister Vucic, and after that we will once again consider everything and decide whether we will continue to take part in the operation of institutions," Stojanovic told Tanjug, adding that he expects the meeting to be held next week.
MPs of the Srpska List started to boycott the sessions of the Kosovo Assembly following the dismissal of Aleksandar Jablanovic, minister for communities and return and a member of Srpska List, on February 2.
Jablanovic was dismissed because he branded as "savages" a group of Kosovo Albanians, who stoned the bus carrying displaced Serbs to their hometown Djakovica, western Kosovo, on Orthodox Christmas.
The Srpska List has nine MPs in the Kosovo parliament, two ministers and one deputy prime minister.
Commenting on the recent statement by Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa that Serbs have no reason not to return to the institutions, Stojanovic said that it would be more honest if Mustafa urged Serbs displaced from Djakovica to feel free to visit the town cemetery and church and mark the Orthodox holiday Lenten Soul Saturday.
"It would be more honest if Mustafa called on Djakovica citizens to feel free to come, rather than to prejudge our decisions. It is up to us to decide whether and in what way we will participate in the future operation (of institutions)," said Stojanovic.
Stojanovic said that representatives of Serbs have received no invitation from the Kosovo prime minister, adding that nevertheless their attention is directed at the forthcoming meeting with Prime Minister Vucic.
