KFOR remains committed to providing security in Kosovo (RTK2, Tanjug)
The mission of KFOR remains committed to the mission of providing security and freedom of movement for all citizens of Kosovo, NATO's supreme commander for Europe, US General Philip Breedlove said.
The first man of NATO in Europe, US General Philip Breedlove said during a visit to Kosovo that he is extremely pleased with the work and efforts of KFOR soldiers, adding that KFOR daily progresses towards a more flexible and smaller mission in Kosovo, RTK2 reported.
Asked about the escalation of terrorism in Europe, the head of NATO said that terrorism is a threat to all of Europe, including Kosovo.
"The biggest problem are the fighters who fought in Syria and Iraq, and are now returning to their home countries, they are a threat to security in Kosovo. We have witnessed terrorist attacks in France and Denmark, it is a global problem, which includes and Kosovo" claims General Breedlove.
General could not connect irregular immigrants from Kosovo, with possible deterioration of security situation in the region.
As far as Kosovo Security Forces, Breedlove was satisfied with the cooperation they had with KFOR, but could not comment on the allegations of a possible transformation into the Army of Kosovo because, as he said, this was the question for politicians.
