Dacic: We are against the creation of army of Kosovo (Tanjug)
Serbia is interested in peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija, but is against the creation of the army of Kosovo and this topic should be discussed at the level of United Nations Security Council, said Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic.
While answering participants’ questions at NATO Parliamentary Assembly Rose-Roth Seminar on the topic “Serbia, Western Balkans and Euro-Atlantic Community’ Dacic said that Serbia is against the creation of army of Kosovo because it is not line with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
“That can have certain consequences on the security in the region, because at the time when conflict was over in Kosovo, it was envisaged that the only armed forces in Kosovo could be the international armed forces, that is, KFOR,” said Dacic.
“That is complicated substance and we think that it should be discussed at the level of the UN Security Council,” said Dacic and reiterated that Serbia is interested in peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija, and in continuation of the dialogue with Pristina.
