Dacic: We have no request for Thaci’s visit (FoNet)
I do not have any information about the visit of Hashim Thaci to Belgrade and I have learned about it from the media, said Ivica Dacic, Serbian Foreign Minister and added that Serbia has not received any formal request for approval of such a visit.
Dacic told reporters in Belgrade that meeting, as media reports, at which should participate and Hashim Thaci, will not be organized by the state than the non-governmental sector. He also said that he as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia will not participate in it.
"This gathering is not organized by the Government of Serbia. I have never planned participation in this meeting, so I do not believe that there is a need for arrival of Hashim Thaci to Belgrade," Dacic said.
One thing is to organize such a meeting in Brussels, and the other in Belgrade, Dacic said and pointed out that on such a serious issue, such as a visit of Thaci to Belgrade, cannot be decided without the participation of the state.
He explained that a lot has been done to normalize relations with Kosovo, but added that it was done by mutual agreement.
Dacic said that this was not mutually agreed. He added that this is a unilateral action of certain non-governmental circles, and that such a serious question cannot be implemented without the state authorities.
Asked whether there is an investigative proceeding against Hashim Thaci in Serbia, Dacic said he believed that there is no need for Thaci to come to Belgrade.
