Attack on a Serb official in Klina municipality (RTK2)
Ranko Kostić, official at the Office for Integration of Communities in Klina/Kllinë Municipality said that he was physically attacked in village Drenovac near Klina/Kllinë by an Albanian yesterday around 16:00, who approached him and slapped him in his face.
“While I was in Police station, I was called by the deputy mayor of Klina and police commander. They requested from me not to report the attack by saying that the perpetrator allegedly suffers from sickness. I refused their request and explained that I see attack on me, being that I am municipal official, as an attack on all municipal institutions, even on the police,” said Kostić,. He assessed that situation in Klina/Kllinë Municipality is not good at all, and reminded on the case that happened two days ago when an elderly couple was attacked and robbed in their house in village Drsnik.
Kostić said that once a month meetings of the Municipal Security Council are taking place, with the participation of Kosovo Police, KFOR, UNMIK and representatives of returnees and municipal services, where situation is always assessed as satisfactory. However, the truth is that robberies are taking place, that Serb returnees are suffering from attacks, that perpetrators by rule remain unknown and unpunished, said Kostić,.
“I have informed all relevant institutions, in the municipality and ministries, about the attack on myself. I have request protection and that finally all Serbs citizens and returnees, their properties, which is permanently targeted by perpetrators, are protected,” said Kostić, and requested that representatives of Kosovo government visit them and witness themselves what is happening there.
