At the margins of a meeting of European Ministers of Internal Affairs and Justice in Luxembourg, Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic met with the Police Ministers of Belgium, Spain and Macedonia.

Stefanovic and Macedonian Minister of Police Mitko Cavkov have concluded that the wave of irregular migrations is a major problem for the two countries. They agreed that it is necessary to talk to all the neighbours and representatives of the EU, in order to mitigate the effects of an unprecedented wave of migrations, announced the Serbian Interior Ministry.

Stefanovic introduced Cavkov with the measures undertaken by Serbia in the fight against terrorism, stressing that the Serbian special police units will remain in southern Serbia as a preventative for any possible breach of security of the citizens in this part of the country.

In meetings with the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Belgium and Spain, Jan Jambon and Jorge Fernandes Diaz, Stefanovic pointed out necessity for the intensive exchange of information related to the indication of terrorist threats and the mechanisms for finding a stable and sustainable solution for illegal migrations.
