Jablanović: Belgrade has no freedom to act (KoSSev, Vesti)
The biggest problem for the security of Serbs is that the current Albanian political representatives do not want their return to Metohija, told Vesti Aleksandar Jablanović, founder of the Serbian list and the former minister for return in the Kosovo government.
Serbs are once again under attack in Klina/Klinë and Srbica/Skenderaj. Kosovo Ministry for Return condemns attacks, why Belgrade has no sharper reaction?
-That ministry cannot guarantee the safety for returnees, or job. They condemn incidents generally and mildly condemn incidents against Serbs so that their words are forgotten the next day. The biggest problem for the security of Serbs is that the current Albanian political representatives do not want Serbs to return to Metohija.
Belgrade could condition the resumption of negotiations in Brussels until guarantees are provided for the security of Serbs?
-Belgrade cannot afford this kind of freedom, because decisions are made, that concern the Serbs who live and in other areas, and safer environments. And there is no privilege of election of a topic of negotiations. Pristina should guarantee the process and maintenance of the security but it is neither willing nor capable. If it is willing, it would provide structures that will do that. Safety is not guaranteed with a patrol of the Kosovo police which is passing Serbian enclave twice a day.
If such a government cannot guarantee security why then the Serb ministers do not come out of it?
That's a question for them, but they do not affect the decision of the Government of Kosovo, nor on the Serbian community. Our representatives in the government have lost the compass on what is the Serb national interest in Kosovo. Certainly, it is not to condemn the attack, but to prevent it and make it expensive for perpetrators. We pay a visit to the majority of those Serbs when it is good for photos and statements, and then they stay to live in that atmosphere.
You were the president of the Serbian List, are you happy with the work today?
No, because some people have given themselves the right to use the Serbian List for their personal promotion rather than for the preservation of the Serbian population in Kosovo. The Serbian deputies in the Kosovo parliament function how they can, the President of the List, Slavko Simić, works great. But, it is a big problem with our ministers who are living tucked away and at the expense of citizens, and they are not dealing with things that they should.
Something is wrong seriously
The mayors of municipalities in which the Serbs were attacked, should be held responsible, the Minister of Police has to replace commanders who do not stop this constant violence. If a family was attacked five times in two months, then it means that something deeply is wrong in the security system. By law, in any normal country, this family would have had a permanent police escort, indicates Jablanović.
