Pristina media yesterday published inaccurate news that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo appointed former KLA member, Xhelal Shaqiri for the position of liaison officer in Serbia. As we learned, Shaqiri is appointed to the position of assistant liaison officer and the EU promptly notified the government of Serbia and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija about it. The allegations that the Serbian side had no objections to the appointment of Shaqiri are meaningless, because Belgrade does not have the authority to give permission for the assistant officers.
