Most Albanians in northern Kosovo feel safe (TV Most, RTV Puls)
The representative of the multi-ethnic organization for the development and training MODT in North Mitrovica, Emir Prekazi says that Albanians in northern Kosovo feel safe.
"More than 90 per cent of Albanian citizens who live in the municipalities of Zubin Potok, Leposavić, Zvečan and Northern Mitovica estimate that they live in a safe and secure environment," Prekazi told TV Puls, who participated in the study "Security Albanians in the northern Kosovo after the signing of the Brussels Agreement" together with colleagues from the Human Center Mitrovica.
The research results will be available in late January, announced Director of the Human Centre Mitrovica Veroljub Petronić, who is also project manager.
"Based on preliminary results, we found that there are differences in attitudes between older and younger Albanians in northern Kosovo in terms of security. While the elderly are more open to ethnic cooperation and reconciliation, youth are quite closed. Once there is no contact then there is no desire for meeting people and cooperation," estimates Petronić.
On the other hand, a member of the Municipal Committee for Security and councillor in the municipality of Zubin Potok Srdjan Vučinić claims that his environment is one of the safest and most stable areas of the entire Kosovo.
