Serbian Government sets up working group to open Pristina-Belgrade airline (Beta)
The Serbian government has set up a working group to deal with the normalization of civilian air traffic over Kosovo, including the reestablishment of a direct flight between Belgrade and Pristina, the Ministry of Defense reported on Feb. 13. The working group will also focus on the recovery of a radar position in Kopaonik, to create conditions for safe air traffic management over Kosovo, the ministry said in a press release. The working group is headed by Minister of Defense Zoran Djordjevic, and will include representatives of all relevant institutions.
"A decision to set up a working group that will involve representatives of the relevant agencies demonstrates readiness to continue talks on important matters, and commitment to protecting vital national interests, peace and security, and to creating an atmosphere of trust in the region," Minister Djordjevic said. The minister added that matters falling under the authority of the working group would be discussed in Serbia and in Brussels, and that the public would be informed about the developments.
