Committee on KiM of the Serbian Parliament on health system in Kosovo (KoSSev)
The Committee on Kosovo and Metohija of the Serbian Parliament today to discuss, as announced, the "functioning of the health system of the Republic of Serbia in AP Kosovo and Metohija", reports KoSSev.
However, it was not specified what the MPs will discuss when it comes to the health system.
The KiM Office announced earlier that, by the end of the year, the transformation of the health system of the Republic of Serbia should be carried out in Kosovo.
This transformation is a major joint project of the Ministry of Health and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the intensive work on the project last for almost a year, KoSSev writes.
Transformation, as previously explained, does not imply integration into the Kosovo system, but it is about "institution-building", where the network plan, instead of 26 institutions, will mean "5 + 2", while the system will not have institutions which do not function on the field, such as the Pristina Blood Transfusion Institute, the Istok Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases, Peć Spas, the Klokot Spa, the Health Center Djakovica.
In addition, there will be fewer functions - director of the umbrella institution and managers, with a somewhat different organization in these institutions.
Transformation also implies the employment of additional health workers and a more efficient healthcare system, explained Slađana Stojanović-Marković, Assistant Director of the Office for KiM in mid-July this year in North Mitrovica.
