Firewood stolen from Zociste Monastery (KIM Radio)

Monks from the Serbian Orthodox Church Zociste Monastery noticed yesterday around 13.00 hrs that certain amount of firewood is missing, KIM Radio reported.

The brotherhood assumes the firewood got stolen over the last couple of days, as they recently covered it with a plastic sheet to protect it from the precipitation. When they checked the firewood last time, everything was in place.

The monks suspect the theft was done by the close neighbours, who know very well the infrastructure in the monastery, given that the firewood were stolen from a side that is not covered with surveillance cameras, KIM Radio reported.

The theft was reported to Austrian KFOR, and its representative visited the monastery yesterday. He promised he would inform the police station in Orahovac about the theft, as they are responsible for such cases.

The police officers who secure the monastery at the entry point, are under the command of the Prizren regional police station and are not responsible to conduct the infestation, KIM Radio reported.
