Trajkovic: Only Djindjic understood us (Danas)
I would come to the meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, on 30 January with a group of reputable Kosovo Serbs who were brave enough to accept this challenge, Momcilo Trajkovic politician from Kosovo and leader of the Serb Resistance Movement, told Danas daily.
Many have refused my invitation, some fearing to take part in it, many considering it goes in vain to talk to this regime. I would also speak to Vucic about circumstances in which Oliver Ivanovic was murdered, security of Serbs in Kosovo, the destiny of our people, policy that the authorities in Serbia are implementing in Kosovo, its shortcomings but also good things in it, Trajkovic said.
Trajkovic also said that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija should be part of Vucic’s internal dialogue.
“It will be one of our crucial demands, to involve in a dialogue reputable persons, intellectuals, experts from Kosovo and Metohija, but also those displaced all over central Serbia who have something to say. We are wise enough and when it comes to Kosovo, foremost it is about us and we cannot stay aside. We do not accept the thesis that the president won over 80 percent of the votes from Serbs in Kosovo and therefore he has undoubtable and blank support to do whatever he wants,” Trajkovic told Danas.
Trakovic also said in 2015 he expected Vucic would implement Zoran Djindjic policy on Kosovo, but it turned out to be “a simulation of Djindjic’s policy”. He added, his aim is not to bring Vucic and his authority down, but to point out the problems of Serbs in Kosovo and to “exercise a positive pressure” upon the government, as every government willing to honestly share responsibility with the Serbs from Kosovo has chances to last longer, Danas daily reported.
