Vucic requested from Guterres greater engagement of UNMIK (Radio kontakt plus, KIM Radio)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met yesterday with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York, Serbian media reported.

Serbian President Vucic pledged for the respect of UN SC Resolution 1244, greater role of UNMIK and finding of a compromised solution to the Kosovo issue.

During the talks with the UN SG Guterres, Vucic said Serbia is ready to cooperate with both international organizations and Kosovo Albanians and pointed out the importance in finding a compromise.

He added, Serbia is ready to accept a compromise, but it does not mean one side should get everything while the other side lose all, but both sides should give and take something.

Meanwhile, UN SG Gutterres fully supported continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

He assessed the number of people who have returned to Kosovo is insufficient and that this process should speed up, adding that all issues related to Kosovo need to be resolved in a peaceful and political manner, Serbian media reported.
