Opposition demands resignation and accountability of Prime Minister Brnabic (Danas)
Based on Constitution of Serbia and its laws, the statement Ana Brnabic made to German daily “Velt” that Kosovo was Serbia and if Serbia would continue insisting Kosovo belongs to it a compromise would have not been possible, equals to an act of a high-treason, in particular if it is a Prime Minister of a country making such a statement, opposition Dveri Movement MP Branislav Mihajlovic said, Danas daily reported.
Mihajlovic is not the only representative of the Serbian opposition finding the statement PM Brnabic made to German daily more than disputable. Deputy chair of Peoples’ Party and MP Miroslav Aleksic requested an urgent Assembly session to discuss all the measures Serbia should undertake to help the state and Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. He also requested accountability of the PM Brnabic and ministers since they have no right to waste properties and national interests of the state.
“It is not their family inheritance, so they can alone make decisions on what to sell, trade and agree upon. This is part of a wider campaign Serbian Progressive Party has been carrying out for years, aiming to surrender Kosovo and give it a chair in the UN,” Aleksic said.
New Serbia – Movement for Salvation of Serbia MP, Djordje Vukadinovic said that PM Brnabic in her interview and later statement announced renouncing the official negotiation position of Serbia. “You do not act and trade in such a way, even on the green market, let alone in some more serious activities,” Vukadinovic said, while the leader of Dveri Movement, Bosko Obradovic also demanded PM Brnabic accountability.
Obradovic urged PM Brnabic to resort to the only possible moral act and submit a resignation if she believes Kosovo and Metohija are not part of Serbia and that a compromise with Albanians includes renouncing Kosovo and Metohija.
He also asked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic who gave him a mandate to negotiate in Brussels on Sunday “with a war criminal, terrorist and separatist Hashim Thaci” and if he ever got a mandate from the Serbian National Assembly to negotiate, Danas daily reported.
