“Shifting responsibility over Kosovo to citizens – result of immature politics” (Radio KIM)
Announcement of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that all citizens in Serbia should take over responsibility in relation to Kosovo, is a result of immature politics, analysts in Kosovo told Radio KIM.
Commenting on this announcement, political analyst Stefan Filipovic said it is easier to shift the blame for your failures to the people.
Filipovic thinks the Constitution of Serbia is very clear when it comes to Kosovo, and the result of a possible referendum on the agreement on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina would not be binding, same as nobody took into consideration results of a referendum organized in 2012 in the four northern municipalities in Kosovo, with a question: “Do you accept institutions of the so-called republic of Kosovo?”
“Therefore, it is needed to clarify what is the legal and political nature of that referendum, and what its legal consequences would be (…), since this referendum can not invalidate the Constitution. So, it cannot change the Constitution, since it must be in line with the Constitution and to deal with issues within the Constitution of Serbia, not outside it,” Filipovic underlined.
Meanwhile, Pristina-based analyst Beluj Becaj thinks that statement on a referendum about possible Belgrade-Pristina agreement is a result of immature politics of the Serbian leadership. According to him, almost nothing was done to proximate the stances of people in Serbia and Kosovo, KIM Radio reported.
