Pacolli on borders, agreement with Serbia (Prva TV, B92)
Kosovo Foreign Minister Beghjet Pacolli told Prva TV there should be no borders between Kosovo and Serbia and “the ball should be moved to the economic field.”
Responding to a question, how far solution to the Kosovo issue is at the moment, Minister Pacolli said we are close, but at the same time far away.
“We are very far away, but we are also very close. Everything is in our hands. If we want, we can get much closer, and if we won’t then we are far away,” Pacolli said. Asked about who resolution of the Kosovo issue depends upon, he said “it depends upon us and the will of our peoples.”
“If we are willing then we would reach a conclusion. In Kosovo, we have a great willingness for reconciliation.”
Commenting on journalist’s remark there are two opposing fractions in Kosovo, one that supports resolution of the Kosovo issue through border correction and the other one opposing it, Pacolli said the whole idea came the way too sudden.
“People need to be consulted, to think about it, but I think we are on the good way, and if our leaders Mr. Thaci and Mr. Vucic pay attention and explain to the people, no one would reject good thing,” Pacolli noted.
“I think that demarcation, since we never conducted demarcation and the most probably, if one talks about demarcation, then it is very reasonable and there should be no problem.”
Asked when the final solution should be reached, Pacolli responded “as soon as possible,” Serbian media reported.
