Dacic: How long Albanians would be tolerated to avoid obligations (RTS)
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, speaking for RTS “Upitnik” show said that Pristina constantly seeks an alibi to avoid implementation of signed agreements. Dacic added Kosovo does not want to join Interpol because of the fight against the crime, but to show and prove itself as a state. Dacic also underlined as long as the UN SC Resolution 1244 remains in force, there is no army of Kosovo.
He termed initiative for transformation of Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) as an attempt by some Western countries to please Pristina authorities. He recalled statement of the EU Commission spokesperson Maja Kocijancic, who said the EU supports transformation of KSF only in line with constitutional amendments.
“This is contrary to the constitution. Therefore, there is nothing out of that,” Dacic said, adding that there were fierce reactions in the USA last night, but “this time they let them a bit, due to internal political situation.”
Dacic also opined there is no need for Kosovo to join Interpol, since Kosovo is already cooperating with Interpol through UNMIK.
Speaking about resolution of the Kosovo issue, Dacic said there are two proposals heard about in the public. One is that Kosovo should be an independent state and that Belgrade should recognize Kosovo “the way they defined themselves as a state,” and second proposal, based on the Constitution of Serbia, is that Kosovo is autonomous province and part of Serbia.
“We do not want first thing, and Albanians do not want the second. Is it possible that it remains a frozen conflict? Is case of Cyprus there was agreement for it to remain a frozen conflict. Cyprus is admitted to the EU. In case of Serbia, Serbia would not be able to move ahead with a frozen conflict, if it truly wants to take the path of EU integration,” Dacic noted.
He also said that we should look for proposal that would accept both, Serbs and Albanians. Otherwise there is a huge risk of getting nothing.
