Vucic: Bad meddling of SOC in politics, it affects me (BETA, TV Pink)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Helsinki he is hurt with “bad meddling” of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) in the politics, BETA news agency reported.
Commenting on the Holly Assembly of Bishops statement that at no price full sovereignty and integrity of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija should be brought into question, Vucic said that people and territory keep sovereignty and asked what Serbia has from that in Kosovo.
“What was left to us since 1999, and since 2009, and where are our army, people and what territory we control? How to preserve that?” Vucic asked, adding that people are the most important for him. According to Vucic, full sovereignty means that Serbia brings army and police.
“That is the meaning of these words. I fear that is irresponsible. I do not want to gamble, but of course I want to protect our people, but by trying to clearly say you do not want any compromise I am afraid we would have nothing to make compromises about, because irresponsible politics brought us into this situation,” Vucic told TV Pink from Helsinki.
