Protest in north continues, Serbs request sanctions to Pristina (RTS)

Serbs protesting against Pristina’s measures requested today in Mitrovica North that Brussels without further delay introduces political and economic sanctions against Pristina authorities, until they stop violating the CEFTA agreement, RTS reports. The protestors put forward five requests addressed to the international community. In addition to political and economic sanctions against Prisitna, Serbs requested firm and strong guarantees that Kosovo special police units and Kosovo Security Forces would not come to the north, since according to them, it is the only way to avoid escalation of conflict. They also said Serb political representatives will not return to Pristina’s institutions until tariffs have been removed and urged the Serbian state to introduce reciprocity measures towards Pristina. Protestors welcomed the decision of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that dialogue can continue only after taxes and other Pristina’s discriminatory measures are revoked. Today is the 28th day since Serbs in Mitrovica north are peacefully protesting against Pristina’s moves, RTS added.
