Montenegro Prime Minister: Call for alliance against Serbia senseless and unacceptable (TV N1, BETA)
Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic termed the call by Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli to create an alliance against Serbia as “senseless”, adding such idea can not be accepted in Montenegro, BETA news agency reported.
Commenting on Veseli’s call that North Macedonia and Montenegro as members of NATO and Kosovo “should gather against Serbia,” Markovic said that something like that cannot be accepted in Montenegro.
“Montenegro was never in alliance against anyone, therefore also not against Serbia. I do not understand such a message. It can not be accepted in Montenegro and as such from the stance of Montenegro is senseless,” Markovic said, after the talks with EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn.
Commissioner Hahn said he hears for the first time about Kadri’s call and reminded on the promise given many times that Western Balkan states will not impede each other on their respective European paths.
Veseli’s statement also caused harsh reactions from Serbian officials.
