McAllister with the representatives of the Serbian List (RTS, Radio Mitrovica Sever)
Representatives of the European Parliament led by EU Rapporteur on Serbia David McAllister, and European Union MPs Igor Soltes from Slovenia and Elmar Brok from Germany, met today with the Serbian List delegation, led by President Goran Rakic and vice presidents Igor Simic and Dalibor Jevtic.
“At the meeting, representatives of the Serbian List pointed the problems faced by Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, but also the clear position that participation in the institutions was made senseless by the unilateral moves of Pristina, and that is why we proposed at the meeting with President Vucic the withdrawal/abandonment of the Kosovo institutions” says the Serbian List statement.
At the meeting, representatives of Serbian List and European parliamentarians agreed that the tariffs on goods from Serbia need to be revoked most urgently, the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to continue, so that a compromise solution can be reached, and finally peace established in the Balkans.
It was especially emphasized that in the following period, peace and security must be preserved for all citizens in Kosovo, reads the statement.
