Russian Ambassador: No overnight solution for Kosovo issue (SRNA, TV N1)

Kosovo issue is rather complex, and it is impossible to find a solution to it overnight, Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin said on Saturday. He added the platform Pristina has recently adopted was completely unrealistic and that, at the current moment, the only solution according to the international law was the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

“We unconditionally support Serbia and Serbs would decide about their interests, positions and possibilities. It cannot be achieved unexpectedly in hallways, it is difficult to imagine,” Ambassador Chepurin told Sputnik, noting “it is clear what some sponsors of Pristina want - a fast capitulation, but that is an issue which would hardly suit Belgrade.”

He also it was difficult for him to comment on a statement of the European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia David McAllister who earlier stated it would make sense to involve Russia and USA in Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, because it is unclear who he is, what his competencies are, and in whose name he voiced that proposal.
