Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic commented on the adoption of Pristina’s resolution on genocide that Serbia allegedly committed in Kosovo saying it is yet another step backward. Brnabic noted while Serbia pursues a policy of peace and compromise, focusing on the future of the region and better living conditions, Pristina’s policy is a policy of the past that shall take no one to the better future.
“It seems to me this is about senseless, predictable acts, they simply do not know what to do with themselves, if I can say so, and what more to come up with in order to compete in the worst nationalism against Serbia and Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija,” Brnabic said.
Other Serbian officials also commented on the resolution.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic said that Pristina’s resolution on the alleged genocide of Serbia in Kosovo showed once more that Kosovo Albanians are not interested in dialogue, stability and development of the region.
Chairperson of the Serbian Government Commission for Missing Persons, Veljko Odalovic said adoption of Pristina’s resolution is a nonsense and such Pristina’s acts do not contribute to reconciliation, dialogue and future relations.
“Decision of Pristina to adopt the resolution is bad, not for us, but for those who made it, as it sends the message there is no ground for that,” Odalovic said.
Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric said that Pristina’s resolution on the alleged genocide of the Serbian regime in Kosovo is a slandering document and a result of panics by those who are facing charges for their own crimes.
In a press statement delivered to the media Djuric said that “this propaganda pamphlet fully bypasses the truth about who has started a campaign of terror and crimes against civilians in Kosovo and Metohija and should serve as a ‘fig leaf’ by which true criminals attempt to conceal their own personal shame and responsibility for committed wrongdoings.”
Serbian National Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairperson, Milovan Drecun said that adopting a resolution on the alleged genocide of Serbia in Kosovo represents a rather hostile act towards the Serbian people and closes a door to Belgrade to continue dialogue.
Head of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) caucus Djordje Milicevic said “it is unthinkable, unscrupulous and hypocritical that so-called Kosovo wishes to present Serbia as genocidal.” He added it is completely clear the genocide was not committed, while the reason for bombing Serbia was a fake accusation. He also said “KLA terrorists who expelled the Serbs want to present Serbia as genocidal.”
