Vecernje Novosti: ''Mogherini's suggestion to Belgrade and Pristina: Stop lobbying until a solution is reached''
According to Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti, the European Union's foreign policy chief and mediator in Belgrade and Pristina's dialogue, Federica Mogherini, suggested to the two parties that the Kosovo authorities first abolish the taxes on Serbian products, and then both sides to postpone lobbying until a solution in the dialogue.
The daily explains it would mean for Belgrade to stop lobbying for the countries, that have recognized Kosovo's independence, to change their decision, and Pristina to stop seeking new recognitions.
Vecernje Novosti reports that Mogherini's suggestion, which she also presented at a meeting in Berlin, apparently will not have echoes, because Pristina does not show the will to withdraw the 100 percent increased taxes on Serbian goods.
Novosti concluded that the words of the president of Kosovo's Assembly, Kadri Veseli, confirmed this, who has "changed his mind about suspension of decision on taxes for 120 days," for which he has advocated, and now considers that the fees should remain.
Novosti reports that Serbian officials confirmed that they will continue to suggest to the countries which have recognized ''the unilaterally declared independence of the Serbian province'' to review their decision and to annul or suspend them until the dialogue is concluded.
Also, those countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo, Belgrade will invite them to maintain a status neutral position until a solution is reached, reported the daily.
