In the recent quarterly report on Kosovo, the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, expressed concern over the migration of people from Kosovo. At the same time, he welcomed the establishment of the Kosovo Assembly and the government and provided a chronology of events that will be discussed at the Security Council meeting this Friday, 6 February. The meeting will be chaired by one of the Security Council’s permanent members, China, while Kosovo will be represented by Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci.

NEW YORK - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York on Wednesday.

According to the readout of the meeting, Ban and Nikolic exchanged views on Serbia's EU integration process, the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, the cooperation between the United Nations and Serbia, including Serbia's role in UN-mandated peacekeeping missions, as well as the country's upcoming OSCE Chairmanship.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed the successful conduct of elections for the Assembly of Kosovo and called on the Kosovo authorities to remain committed to strengthening democracy, the rule of law and the protection of human rights of all in Kosovo.
