5 Kosovo Albanians jailed for plans to prepare IS video (AP)

A Kosovo court has sentenced five ethnic Albanians to jail terms for plans to prepare an Islamic State video.

A Pristina court sentenced them Monday from four to 13 years in prison.

The verdict said the five, who were arrested last year, aimed at "frightening the population, destabilizing and destroying fundamental political, constitutional, economic and social state structures ... by preparing terrorist penal acts."

Kosovo PM accepts resignation of minister facing probe (AP)

Kosovo's Prime Minister Isa Mustafa has accepted the resignation of his environment minister, who offered to step down last week after his name appeared on a list of officials being investigated on suspicions of abusing public money.

Ferid Agani was among 64 people, 44 of them doctors, who allegedly used their positions to channel patients to private hospitals in exchange for money. The public officials involved allegedly got kickbacks from the hospitals.

Kosovo amends draft law to formally prolong EU's mission (AP)

PRISTINA, Kosovo (AP) " The Kosovo government has amended a draft law to prolong the European Union rule of law mission, known as EULEX, for two years.

A statement received Tuesday said the previous evening the Cabinet met to amend a draft law on prolonging of the EULEX mandate after a letter. The Cabinet acted after President Hashim Thaci had no response from EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini before EULEX mandate expired June 14.

EU, Kosovo Police in Major Operation Against Organized Crime (AP/ABC News)

The European Union's police mission in Kosovo launched a major operation against organized crime.

Local media reported that police arrested a governing party lawmaker in Wednesday's raids, and police also checked scores of bars and restaurants allegedly managed by criminal gangs.
