Nikolic is doing everything to prevent membership of Kosovo (TV Most)

“Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic makes every effort to prevent the membership of Kosovo in UNESCO. The efforts also include lobbying for the support to the Serbian proposal that this issue will be removed from the agenda,” stated advisors to the president, Stanislava Pak and Ivan Mrkić. As stated, president Nikolic initiated the campaign as soon he learned about the attempts.  For three months during his talks with heads of states and ambassadors, president emphasized the unacceptability of Kosovo's membership in UNESCO.

Thaci: Serbia failed to postpone vote on Kosovo’s UNESCO bid (RTK)

Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, writes on his Facebook account that Kosovo has scored another small but important procedural victory in the UNESCO today. “Serbia’s attempt to postpone the vote [on Kosovo’s UNESCO bid] for November 13 has failed. Delawie: US will cooperate with  Kosovo government for UNESCO membership (Klan Kosova)

The United States Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, said today that his country supports Kosovo's membership in UNESCO. "We will work closely with the government of Kosovo for a positive result at the General Assembly of UNESCO,” Delawie said.  He also stressed that the US is interested in the protection of all religious and cultural monuments of all nationalities in Kosovo.

European Parliament vice president and rapporteur for Kosovo, Ulrike Lunacek, told Radio Free Europe that Serbian cultural and religious heritage in Kosovo can best be protected if Kosovo becomes part of UNESCO. According to her, if Kosovo join this organization, UNESCO would supervise Kosovo in fulfilling the promises of preserving cultural heritage. Speaking about the recent political developments in Kosovo, she said that such actions in the Assembly are unacceptable. According to her, dialogue is the only way.

I'll transfer the message about Serbia’s position to Riyadh (TV Most)

President of the Higher Council for Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Saudi Arabia, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, said that he will transfer the position of the Government of Serbia, which opposes Kosovo's membership to UNESKO, in appropriate manner.  "Issues related to Kosovo and UNESCO fall within the jurisdiction of other ministry in Saudi Arabia, and I will not talk about it during this visit. That's what I talked with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic," said Al Saud.

Tanaskovic: Chances are growing to postpone the vote in UNESCO (Blic)

Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO Darko Tanaskovic says that the chances grow to postpone the vote on Kosovo's entry in UNESCO.

"I have the impression that the proposal to postpone the discussions on Kosovo's admission to UNESCO got wider support in diplomatic circles," said Tanaskovic for Sputnik, after the first day of the UNESCO General Conference.
