MPs request from KIA to increase vigilance in the north (Koha)
The Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) Driton Gashi, reported today to the Assembly Committee for Supervision of KIA, about the security situation in Kosovo, especially after the murder of Oliver Ivanovic.
Head of this Committee, Donika Kadaj Bujupi, said they requested from the Director to increase vigilance in the north.
Kadaj-Bujupi said there were warnings about turbulences, but they did not happen and added that the situation in the north is not alarming.
Vetevendosje’s Kadaj-Bujupi to chair parliamentary committee on KIA (Koha)
Vetevendosje’s MP, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, has been appointed to chair the Assembly Committee for the Oversight of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA). Kadaj-Bujupi said the committee will soon call the head of KIA to report on a number of issues that have so far not been addressed.
KIA: Russian journalists exceeded their professional duties (Indeksonline)
The Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) stated on Friday that the two journalists of the “Noboctnoi Front” who were arrested by Kosovo Police several days ago had exceeded their professional duties. “KIA has knowledge about the presence of foreign nationals operating in the Republic of Kosovo, either in official or unofficial business, friendly or otherwise. Our data indicate that these two journalists have exceeded their professional duties,” notes a response sent by KIA.
Intelligence chief dismisses three KIA directors (Koha)
The Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) newly appointed chief, Agron Selimaj, on Friday dismissed three directors of the agency. Sources within the agency told Koha that the dismissed directors are: Barlet Gashi, Driton Fetahu and Valon Salihu. Their dismissal came due to mismanagement in sectors that they led, writes Koha.
KIA Department for Verification to become governmental agency (Koha)
The Department for Verification, which currently operates within the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) will become independent agency within the government of Kosovo, reports Koha. This is one of the challenges that the KIA Director, Agron Selimaj, presented during his report to the Parliamentary Committee for Supervision of KIA. This was announced by the chairman of this Committee, Haxhi Shala. Shala said that Selimaj reported on KIA developments, challenges and staff changes.
