Minister of Labor and social Welfare, Nenad Rasic, called on Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Dardan Gashi, not to ruin the Orthodox church in Pristina, and added that if this happens, Serb community would leave Kosovo’s institutions. Belgrade authorities and officials of the Serb Church are also against destruction of this church.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Church Sveti Nikolla in the yard of the University of Pristina was never used and it will be destroyed. Public information official of this Ministry, Kreshnik Gashi, said for TV Klan that based on Kosovo laws, the church has to be removed. “As we all know, that church is not being used, and it never was, and it is not completed either,” said Gashi.
