The United Nations Security Council will discuss the Secretary General’s quarterly report on Kosovo on 29 August. UN chief Ban Ki-moon will call on Pristina and Belgrade to resume dialogue on outstanding issues as soon as possible. The Kosovo delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj, who will call on Security Council member states to apply pressure on Serbia to respect the Brussels agreements, Kosovo’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, to dissolve its parallel structures in Kosovo, to respect freedom of movement and to give its contribution to resolving the fate of missing persons. The Belgrade delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic who will be accompanied by Marko Djuric, director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government. According to Serbian media, Belgrade officials will accuse Pristina for problems faced by Kosovo Serbs. Dacic will also ask for the Security Council’s support in establishing the association of Serb majority municipalities as soon as possible. Parties are expected to welcome Kosovo’s decision to establish the special court for war crimes in Kosovo.
