The abbot of the Monastery Visoki Dečani, archimandrite Sava Janjić, said that protection of the Serbian cultural heritage, to which Monastery belongs, remains one of KFOR’s priorities.

Following his meeting with the deputy head of the Nato (JFC) operations headquarters, US admiral Mary Tinch, the abbot Sava said that he used the opportunity to introduce the high Nato official with security risks, particularly from the perspective of Serbs and Serbian Orthodox Church.

The abbot Sava wrote at his Facebook profile that KFOR remains dedicated to prevention of any threats to peace, as a guarantee of security for all Kosovo communities. He further wrote that they agreed that all factors in the region should work on de-escalation of created tensions and focus on continuation of the dialogue aimed at better and safer living conditions of all communities in Kosovo.
