Russia is in contact with Belgrade due to worsening of relations between Serbia and Kosovo, said director of the department for European affairs in the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexandar Botsan-Kharchenko.
“Of course, we are in contact all the time. Cooperation with Belgrade is very intensive, and when it comes to fight against efforts to push Kosovo into international organizations. However, ‘the first violin’ in this situation belongs to Belgrade, and we are supporting their efforts,” said Botsan-Kharchenko to RIA Novosti.
He also highlighted “constructive position of the Serbian leadership, which did a lot for reducing the tensions, however he doesn’t see the reciprocal steps”, said Kharchenko.
