Minister Jevtic continues to be part of Mustafa cabinet

(KTV)

The pledge of Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, that he will dismiss any indicted official is not being fulfilled toward the Minister for Communities and Return, Dalibor Jevtic.

Although there has been three weeks since the indictment against him for abuse of duty and official authority was filed, the minister from Srpska List continues to be part of Isa Mustafa’s cabinet.

In Government say that Dalibor Jevtic will be dismissed if he does not release minister’s post. Government officials do not give any date as until when they will wait for the minister to reflect.

Faton Abdullahu, Prime Minister’s advisor, says that no matter that Jevtic comes from Srpska List, he will have the same fate as other officials with filed indictments.

In the meantime, Ehat Miftaraj of Kosovo Law Institute says that it has already become a standard to have ministers with indictments in the Government.

KTV tried to take a response from the Ministry for Return and Communities, but information officers of this Ministry did not respond.

OSCE apologizes for its omission during Serbian presidential elections

The OSCE Mission in Kosovo publically apologized for its omission on 02 April, when during the Serbian presidential elections, Kosovo and Metohija was written in an electoral document.

Through a press announcement, they said that this was an inadvertent omission, a human error and that they apologize to all those offended.

The announcement of this Mission states that ‘this omission by no means is reflective of the OSCE Mission’s positions or policies’, which is neutral toward Kosovo’s status since many of its member countries do not recognize Kosovo’s statehood, Klan Kosova added.

(Most monitored broadcasters, RTK)

Fatmir Limaj, chairperson of Nisma për Kosovën considers that the time has come to initiate at the Assembly of Kosovo a no-confidence motion against the current government.

“This government failed to address and solve a single problem that Kosovo is facing. In general, all Kosovo’s institutions are not functional. Free and democratic elections are the only solution to get our country out of this situation.  Therefore, the opposition political parties should initiate a no-confidence motion against the government and pave the way to early election,” wrote Limaj in his Facebook account.

On the other hand, Vetëvendosje MP Rexhep Selimi said that Vetëvendosje would support this initiative, RTK portal reported.

Ministers continue to report to Assembly committees behind closed doors

(KTV)

Reporting of ministers behind closed doors continued in the Assembly Committee on Stabilisation and Association Agreement.

Despite the criticism of opposition and journalists, four more government ministers reported behind closed doors.

According to the chairman of this Committee, Xhavit Haliti, the reason of their closing is to stop political clashes between representatives of political entities from coming into public.

But, Vetëvendosje MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi reacted against closure of this Committee, who demanded explanations from the Committee for Mandates and Immunities.

Different from Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, who demanded modification of the demarcation criterion for visa liberalisation, Minister of European Integration from PDK, Mimoza Ahmetaj, while reporting to Assembly Committee, said that demarcation must be ratified in the Assembly in order to have visa liberalisation.

On the other hand, Minister of Justice Dhurata Hoxha said that lot more work remains to be done in the fight against corruption.

On 03 April, Minister of Foreign Affairs Enver Hoxhaj also reported behind closed doors to this Committee, KTV reported.

Political analysts request political consensus on early elections

(RTK1)

Political analysts consider that Kosovo should enter elections in to order solve the political stalemate, but, according to them, political parties beforehand must find a consensus on this issue.

Berat Buzhala, Imer Mushkolaj and Adriatik Kelmendi discussed in RTK ‘Monitor’ show about the current political situation in Kosovo and ways to overcome the political crisis.

Buzhala said that the current Government, which as he said, in paper is big, has not done any important work so far. According to him, Kosovo has not made any progress since the current ruling coalition took over the power.

Buzhala said that LDK does not favor early elections, because, as he said, LDK is currently satisfying its militants by appointing them in municipalities and ministries. According to him, early elections could be in favor of PDK chairperson, Kadri Veseli and AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj.

The other analyst, Imer Mushkolaj stated that technically reasons can be found for early elections. He said that the Government failed to finds solutions to problems or unblock political processes.

While, Adriatik Kelmendi said that early elections would not necessarily solve issues in Kosovo, however he emphasized that a general consensus should be found beforehand in order to enter early elections.
