Walker: Vucic like Milosevic

(Klan Kosova)

He comes to Kosovo often and his visits never go unnoticed. Albanians have not forgotten the help of former U.S. diplomat William Walker in order for the NATO air campaign to be launched. This is utterly the reason why the Serbs do not like him, Klan Kosova reported.

His visit during this week in Kosovo triggered reactions in Belgrade because of this statement: “Unity of all Kosovars, all Albanians in a single goal, which is to work together. I want all of you to follow a path. This is my goal.”

These words of him were understood by the Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, as lobbying for the ‘Greater Albania.’ Furthermore, he said that Walker did this even when he was the Head of the OSCE Mission during the war in Kosovo. But, Walker says he was misunderstood because with unity of Albanians he did not mean their unification in a state.

According to the former Ambassador, Walker, it is the Serbian leaders the ones who have always tried to intimidate the world with the idea of ‘Greater Albania’, while he says that he is surprised with the statement of Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic that ‘Walker fabricated the Reçak Massacre.’ He sees no difference between Slobodan Milosevic and Aleksandar Vucic for the way they make propaganda.

“All they have to do is look at the Human Rights Report drafted by the OSCE one or two years after the massacre. Massive evidence of atrocities committed during the war, including Reçak. In my opinion, these are strong evidence that what I have described as a massacre in Reçak is in fact a massacre,” Walker said.

Veseli accuses Mustafa for stagnation of economy

(Most monitored broadcasters, TV21)

Chairman of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli, said that the reason why the country is entering elections is because economy has stagnated, creation of jobs has also stagnated and it is not being moved toward country’s integration in the European Union with the adequate pace.

“Entering elections has nothing to do with political reasons or because of PDK, but this is happening because Isa Mustafa’s leadership failed in front of Kosovo citizens,” Veseli stressed.

Veseli made these statements while addressing the Democratic Woman Summit in Prishtinë/Pristina on Sunday, where he promised to double representation of women in decision-making, most TV broadcasters reported.

Mustafa commends his cabinet for solving Trepça issue

(TV21)

Acting Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, commended his cabinet by saying that after 17 years of uncertainty they offered the best solution for Trepça mining complex.

He wrote in his Facebook that they saved Trepça from bankruptcy by opening a powerful development perspective to it. He underlined that this makes miners co-owners of Trepça without protagonism and fear and from joint successes.

Serbs are accepting new reality in Kosovo

(Most monitored broadcasters, TV21)

Serb leader from Kosovo north, Oliver Ivanovic, stated that the new reality in Kosovo has started to be accepted each day more by the Serbs, in particular by the Serbs living in Kosovo.

Speaking about Albanian-Serbian relations, Ivanovic considered that Serbia’s diplomacy and politics has continuously underestimated Albanians which, according to him, was a very big historical mistake.

Fifth Kosovo legislation considered weakest in parliamentary history

(KTV)

It took them almost six months to take MP seats at the Assembly following 2014 elections, while their mandate ended at the middle of it, and to always be remembered as the legislation of teargas.

MPs of the fifth legislation ended their mandate by being dissolved from the President of Kosovo, after the Government’s no confidence motion, however, since the beginning it was considered as the weakest legislation from the ones monitoring Assembly’s work, KTV reported.

MPs who rarely or never took part in sessions, who signed only for per diems, who did not open their mouths not even out of the agenda, parliamentary questions or debates, but who did not say no to travels abroad, can be the description which was made to these MPs.

Driton Selmanaj of Democracy Plus says that this legislation will be remembered for non-work and use of most non-democratic means within the Assembly.

In the meantime, Artan Murati of Kosovo Democratic Institute says that since its constitution, the Assembly has never managed to meet its legislative agenda more than 36 per cent.

Compared to previous legislations, Murati says that during this mandate the Assembly had more transparency, but when it comes to financial statements, it has stalled on the final quarter of last year, as well as for this period of 2017.

The leaving Assembly Speaker, Kadri Veseli, constantly said that publication of financial statement will be a priority.

Later during the news edition, KTV reported that Kosovo Assembly published its expenditures for the final quarter of 2016. Aside from major expenditures in salaries and per diems, the cabinet of former Assembly Speaker paid over 7.000 euros for an air ticket to travel abroad.

Stojkovic wants a representative for IDPs in Kosovo Assembly

(Klan Kosova)

Head of the political alliance of displaced Serbs from Kosovo to Serbia, Milos Stojkovic, said it is necessary for the displaced persons to have a representative of theirs in the Assembly of Kosovo.

According to him, the unity of Serbs is strengthened by representatives in the Assembly.

Stojkovic said that the Serb representative should be elected by Aleksandar Vucic and the List that closely cooperates with the Serbian Government.
