Vetëvendosje and LDK officials met

(RTK)

Officials of Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) met on Monday in Prishtinë/Pristina to look into the opportunity of joint way ahead and potential coalition between them.

The news for the meeting between VV and LDK was confirmed to Klan Kosova by VV media officer Shkodran Hoti.

“It was discussed about the way ahead and several programmatic issues,” Hoti briefly said.

Tahiri remains loyal to Pacolli and AKR

(KTV)

By taking a picture together with his party leader Behgjet Pacolli, Labinot Tahiri showed that he will remain loyal to him.

Labinot Tahiri became a member of the Kosovo Assembly as part of the joint list with the LDK-AKR-Alternativa (LAA) coalition, whereas media have continuously mentioned his name, claiming that he will vote for the PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) coalition and for its candidate for Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.

Pacolli and his AKR have decided to continue with the pre-election coalition LAA.

RTK1 quoted Pacolli as having called for a broad-base government, which, according to him, will be a salvation for Kosovo. In a Facebook post in the evening, Pacolli said that because of the complex situation and the challenges that Kosovo is facing, there is no need for a government of one party against another one or a government conditioned by Srpska List, which, according to Pacolli, receives orders from Serbian state.

“A broad consensus government with a limited time mandate would serve free movement for citizens of Kosovo by appropriately resolving demarcation and all other international obligations,” Pacolli wrote.

Pacolli called on Kosovo’s international friends and Government of Albania to assist in accomplishing his idea.

Apostolova and Alternativa: Credible government needed swiftly

(KTV)

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo Nataliya Apostolova with her associates, paid a visit to Alternativa headquarters, where she had a meeting with the Alternativa leader Mimoza Kusari-Lila and vice-chairman Ilir Deda, referring to the Party statement, reported by Koha.net.

The topic of the meeting was situation following June 11 early elections and the necessity of forming credible governing institutions in Kosovo.

According to the statement, both sides agreed that delays in forming institutions may harm Kosovo. Not only those delays can hamper credibility of the elections, but they can also cause a considerable economic and financial damage, as a consequence of potential loss of the EU funds.

The statement concludes that Alternativa remains committed that the future Kosovo Government must clearly prioritise fight against corruption, economic development, and integration of Kosovo; whereas, they believe that important issues for Kosovo need to be resolved through a broad political consensus.

Zeka: Constitutive Assembly session to happen on July 27

(Klan Kosova)

Milaim Zeka, an elected MP of Nisma për Kosovën, said that the first Assembly session will take place on 27th July. According to him, both VV and LDK will vote for Kadri Veseli as Assembly Speaker.

As a guest of Klan Kosova’s Infomagazine show, Zeka said that if Haradinaj fails to constitute government, he should clear the way to others, so that Government does not remain hostage, and that Kosovo citizens and institutions are not stuck.

On the other hand, Naser Rugova, an elected MP of LDK, said he will vote in the Assembly in accordance with the LDK’s Executive Council, saying that there is no final decision yet. Thus, Rugova refuted the news that he would vote for Ramush Haradinaj as Prime Minister.

Kuçi admits that PAN hasn’t got enough votes

(RTK1)

For the first time someone from the PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) coalition admitted that they have a serious issue with numbers for constituting government. In an interview with RTK’s Imazh show, the AAK Secretary General Blerim Kuçi said they are in the process of assuring votes for the new government.

Kuçi: On the voting day we will see how many numbers will there be, and who will vote.

RTK1: But you said you had the numbers to vote for the government.

Kuçi: We said we were in the process of assuring the numbers.

RTK1: No, that is what you are saying today, because until today you said you had the numbers to constitute government.

Kuçi: We did say so; I saw some personalities of our political entities saying so. That is because we are aware of Mr Haradinaj’s communication and power in this process. Having this in mind, it would be quite normal to expect having the votes.

RTK1: So, you are in the process of assuring the votes for government?

Kuçi: We are in the communication process with political entities.

Simic: Srpska List has not decided about coalition

(RTK)

Srpska List has not yet decided which coalition it will join following the last general elections of June 11, said Slavko Simic – deputy chairman of this party.

Simic does not believe that this week will be a constitutive session and constitution of a new government, RTKLive reports.

Simic, in a statement with Radio KiM, said that MPs have not yet been registered and it is not procedurally possible to constitute the government this week.

Kosovo’s access to EU Programs finally approved

(KTV)

Kosovo’s Ministry of European Integration welcomed the approval of EU-Kosovo Framework Agreement for the participation of Kosovo in EU programmes by the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels, KTV portal reported.

“Following today’s adoption, this framework agreement which was signed between the EU and Kosovo in December last year will soon enter into force and it will allow Kosovo to participate in 17 EU programs which provide financial support for a wide range of beneficiaries, such as the students, scientists, NGOs, businesses, regions, media, artists and others,” the MEI press release states.

This Ministry states that Kosovo’s requests to be allowed access to these programs were filed for a while now and the process until their approval was long.
