Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, has sent a report to European Union authorities on the process of implementation of agreements reached in the framework of normalization of relations dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

In the report, Tahiri accuses Serbia of “sabotage” and “blockades” and of “seriously failing” to fulfill its part of the agreement, namely those on energy, justice, diploma and cadaster. “It has disrupted the revitalization of the Mitrovica Bridge and revitalization of main street in Mitrovica North, dismantlement of Serb parallel municipalities, sabotaged final implementation of the agreement on dismantlement of “civil protection”/ namely the issue of premises for Kosovo institutions where former “CP” members are employed. Whereas it still supports some of its parallel structures in Kosovo, in violation of Brussels Agreements”, Tahiri writes.

Tahiri said commitment to dialogue can only be credible if both sides proceed with full implementation and finalize the dialogue with the mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia. “I can assure that Kosovo will remain in the course of its Euro-Atlantic future because we share common values. I believe the future of all Western Balkan countries is being anchored to the West, though here our Western partners must stand more firmly with us to help cope with whatever security threats of geopolitical nature or any other nature that knocks in our doors. Other alternatives belong to past and should remain in past”, she noted.

Tahiri also spoke about the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities in the report’s second part under the title: Agreements delayed by Kosovo. There she said that Kosovo was ready to implement agreement on its establishment but that it was repeatedly prevented from doing so by Serbia, first with construction of the wall in Mitrovica North, then the attempt of the train entering Kosovo, and finally detention of Ramush Haradinaj on an arrest warrant issued by authorities in Serbia. “Kosovo remains committed to implement the Agreement on Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo, in accordance with the Brussels agreement, the Kosovo constitution and the Constitutional Court decision. After the formation of new government, Kosovo will continue to fulfil this obligation, as it has done with all other obligations deriving from the Brussels Dialogue, in past six years”, Tahiri stated.

In conclusion, Tahiri spoke of the need to implement all pending agreements as soon as possible. She warned that any further delays would have negative impact on all the progress so far and “undermine the public trust to this process”.
