Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić recalled in a written statement to the press that 19 years ago, journalists Đuro Slavuj and Ranko Perenić disappeared near Orahovac/Rahovec, and the families still do not have any information about their fate, which is ”a big stain” of those who take care of the establishment of the rule of law in Kosovo.
– Thanks to the persistence of the colleague journalists, at the place of their disappearance stands the memorial plaque as a response and a warning for all those who believe that the cover-up of the crime is an act of patriotism, and that the resolve of those who seek justice is short-lived, said Đurić. Đurić also said that that neither silence nor the desecration of the memorial plaque will distract those who seek justice, and that the society of inter-ethnic tolerance in Kosovo will not be possible until the families of the missing, regardless of their nationality, are not satisfied with the truth.
