Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Director, Marko Djuric met with the Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin today and spoke about current political and security situation in Kosovo and the forthcoming UN Security Council session on Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

On this occasion, Djuric expressed the stance of Serbia that UN Security Council should continue discussions on Kosovo every three months.

According to him, Belgrade is grateful to the UN Mission in Kosovo for its good work and status neutrality, adding that based on a long-term experience a trust was built that by a greater role of UNMIK political stability in Kosovo would be achieved, as well as legal security and better preconditions for the progress in the dialogue.

Office for Kosovo Director, Djuric once again emphasized sincere and consistent determination of Belgrade to peacefully resolve misunderstandings in the region using political and diplomatic means, as well as the wish to continue the dialogue with Pristina.

“Belgrade showed commitment on the ground to implement achieved agreements, and it is Pristina’s turn now, it has to unblock the process of the creation of the Association of Serb Municipalities,” Djuric said, adding that today is 1651 day since the signing of the Brussels agreement, when Pristina took this obligation.

Djuric also informed SRSG Tanin about the idea of an internal dialogue on Kosovo, initiated by the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
