Aleksandar Vucic and Sem Fabrizi on Tuesday discussed Serbia’s EU path, the situation in the region, the rule of law and media freedoms.

This is according to a statement issued by the president’s press service, which added that the Serbian president, during his meeting with the head of the EU delegation to Serbia, “stressed Serbia’s priority is EU membership,” and added that the country would do “everything that is needed to become a part of the European family.”

Vucic also stressed that it was important to – before a new round of the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations – start implementing the part of the Brussels agreement on the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo and Metohija – and noted that “1,670 days have passed since the deadline for the implementation of the decision.”

According to the statement, the two interlocutors “emphasized the importance that the strengthening of the justice system and the rule of law have in meeting European standards, as well as attracting new foreign investments in Serbia.”

During the meeting, they also touched on Serbia’s contribution to regional cooperation, reconciliation and stability, which was also assessed to be very important for the entire region’s economic progress.
