Special War Crimes Prosecutor, Elez Blakaj has expanded the investigation against Bogdan Mitrovic to seven more persons, one of them Albanian, lawyer Dejan A. Vasic said to KIM Radio.
The Basic Court in Prizren approved this request.
Vasic, KIM Radio further reports, expressed surprise over the acts of the prosecutor, given that the entire process is being conducted based on the testimony of one witness, municipal officer for return in the municipality of Suva Reka, Gjeladin Sadikaj, whose testimony was refuted with statements of other Special Prosecution witnesses, bringing his credibility into serious doubt.
“In my response to the prosecutor’s request to seek assistance from the Special Court for War Crimes in The Hague, I said it would be necessary to find previous statements of Mr. Sadikaj made here in Kosovo, where is clear that he mentioned Mr. Mitrovic for the first time after 18 years. I think this new investigation is for the sake of buying time, as Special Prosecution in its investigation reached an impasse,” lawyer Vasic, who is defending Bogdan Mitrovic said to KIM Radio.
