Police: Turkish nationals were deported on Thursday (Koha/Lajmi)
Family members of the six Turkish nationals who were arrested on Thursday, waited for several hours in front of Pristina’s international airport after unconfirmed reports that some of the arrested were not deported to Turkey and were being kept in the old premises of the airport. Kosovo Police told Koha that the Turkish nationals left Pristina airport on Thursday at 11:05. “We assure the people that Kosovo Police remains committed to implementing its tasks in line with its constitutional and legal mandate,” a police spokesperson said. Pristina-based Lajmi news website has published video footage showing the Turkish nationals entering a minivan that transported them to a Turkish jet. The news website also notes that Turkish media are reporting that the six nationals are already being interrogated by authorities in Turkey.

PM Haradinaj convenes Kosovo Security Council (Lajmi)
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has called a meeting of the Kosovo Security Council today. A government press release noes that the Council will discuss the overall security situation in the country. The news website notes that this is the second time that Haradinaj assembles the Security Council within several days, following the arrest of Marko Djuric and the arrest and deportation of six Turkish nationals.

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti said today that following the deportation of six Turkish nationals by Kosovo authorities, the two dismissals by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj are not enough. Kurti argued in a Facebook post that Haradinaj dismissed the intelligence chief and the interior minister only to avoid his own resignation. Kurti also said that the operation could not have been carried out without the knowledge of President Hashim Thaci. “The issue is neither the arrest nor the deportation. The question is who gave the order for the Kosovo Intelligence Agency to prepare files on these people,” Kurti wrote.
Jashari: Kosovo violated basic human rights by deporting Turkish nationals (Zeri)
The People’s Attorney, Hilmi Jashari, said today that his office had difficulties securing information about the deportation of the six Turkish nationals. “Basic human rights were violated with their deportation. Kosovo’s constitution guarantees human rights and it has violated international conventions in this case,” Jashari said.
