The European Union Summit on Western Balkans is expected to be held in Sofia, on 17 May. Despite the objections of some of the EU member states, Kosovo will be participating at the Summit. “Yes, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj will participate,” said Avni Arifi, adviser to the Prime Minister.
Spain has from the first day informed that it does not want to sit at the same table with Pristina representatives.
Serbian media also reported that other EU countries which have not recognized Kosovo, such as Romania and Cyprus, are expected to have a similar position. In the meantime, Bulgarian officials are trying to convince members not to discuss the status of Kosovo and seek a proper formula.
