Members of the Management Team for establishment of Association/Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities met today with representatives of the education system and discussed ways how this area should be treated within ZSO draft Statute, Radio kontakt plus reported.

Management Team said that in line with relevant Brussels agreements, the ZSO would have authority over the area encompassing preschool, primary and secondary, as well as higher education, while representatives of the education system highlighted it is needed to ensure the right that these institutions are linked with appropriate institutions outside of the future ZSO territory.

It was also said that the authority of the ZSO over the education system should include pupils’ and students’ standards, preparation of programme and working plans, assessing the work and overseeing professional development of employees, advancing social care for pupils and students.

It was also agreed that future of the Serbian people, preservation of its identity, culture and tradition depends upon securing the right to qualitative education

Rector of Pristina University dislocated to Mitrovica North, Rade Grbic, Chief of School Administration Jasmina Dedic, school directors and representatives of primary and secondary schools from Serb-majority municipalities participated in a meeting, Radio kontakt plus reported.
