Several persons entered yesterday the schoolyard in the village of Suvi Do, near Lipljan, broke an entry door and harassed pupils who were on the sport playground, Serbian media reported.

Education staff from the school told RTS, pupils informed them that several men, speaking in Albanian and English, demolished the school entry door with metal bars. While they were approaching the school, these persons hurled insults and uttered obscenities to the Serb children.

Afterwards they fled in a car, while the case was reported to the police, that interviewed children in the presence of their parents.
The children were ten-year-olds who were “visibly distressed,” the school’s headmaster, Bratislav Djedovic, said after the incident.

Mayor of Gracanica municipality, Srdjan Popovic condemned the incident in the strongest terms.

“In one of the saddest days for Gracanica municipality, when entire Serb population marks the anniversary of the murder of young Dimitrije Popovic, we are all deeply disturbed over a news about new attack against Serb youth. We condemn in the strongest terms such barbaric synchronized acts that cause fear among Serb population and take us one decade backwards,” Popovic said.

According to the Gracanica municipality information office, police arrested last night four Albanians old up to 20 years, over demolishing part of the school with metal bars and harassment of the Serbian children, Serbian media reported.
