The Serbian President is planning to hide behind the will of the people expressed at a referendum on Kosovo after years of taking decisions on his own, leading opposition politician Sanda Raskovic Ivic told Belgrade daily Danas.

“[Serbian President] Aleksandar Vucic has been buying time for a long while, not asking anyone about anything, and now when “delivery” time has come he intends to hide behind the will of the people at a referendum,” the deputy leader of the Popular Party said, adding that the referendum question will be formulated by Vucic or someone speaking for him.

She said that she is convinced that elections will come with a possible referendum as a way to step up the pressure on voters.

Raskovic Ivic said she has heard attacks and accusations and not a single solid argument in replies to questions about Kosovo. “The UN Security Council has debated Kosovo more times than the Serbian parliament and its Kosovo and Metohija Committee,” she said.
