Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia, has confirmed he will attend a meeting with his Kosovo’s counterpart Hashim Thaci on June 24 in Brussels but added he was not either pessimistic or optimistic regarding the outcome.

He said Belgrade delegation had no any pre-condition and that its only task was to protect the interests of its people.

“I received an official invitation, and the delegation of Serbia will be there as of Friday for a meeting which won’t be so interesting to media, while Thaci and I will meet on Sunday,” Vucic said, speaking from his office, late on Tuesday.

He referred to a technical part of negotiations which Pristina’s delegation put on hold refusing to talk due to a dispute about the agenda.

Kosovo Albanians want an energy deal and joint control of borders to be the main issue, while Serbia’s delegation insists it should be the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) that have been pending since 2013.

However, the technical dialogue is not sure to continue yet after the two sides traded accusations of not implementing agreements.

Earlier on Tuesday Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission said she would facilitate Belgrade – Pristina Dialogue in Brussels on June 24 and invited both Vucic and Thaci.

Thaci also said he would be in Brussels for the first high-level meeting since March 23.
