Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, said that the EU continues to insist Kosovo suspend its import tax on products from Serbia.
In a written response, Kocijancic confirmed Mogherini’s participation at the regional Brdo-Brijuni process set to take place next week in Tirana. “She is ready to review dialogue. It is also clear that the Government of Kosovo should suspend the tariff to allow for quick resumption of dialogue,” Kocijancic said of Mogherini.
With regards to 29 April summit of Western Balkans leaders in Berlin, Kocijancic said that Mogherini held a series of bilateral meetings there. “In these bilateral discussions, the high representative and leaders discussed the situation in the region and reconfirmed the importance and commitment to regional cooperation, good neighbourly relations and reconciliation,” Kocijancic said.
“We welcome any engagement in support of the dialogue facilitated by the EU, including a possible future meeting. Any meeting in support of the dialogue facilitated by the EU is useful and it can be a contribution, support, but the dialogue is that which is facilitated by the EU,” she stressed.
