Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, and Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti were invited to attend the main ceremony yesterday in Pristina marking the 20th anniversary of NATO troops’ deployment, head of protocol office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified.

“I can confirm that invites were sent out also to Mr. Isa Mustafa in the capacity of former prime minister which the courier delivered to the LDK offices and to Mr. Kurti at the Assembly through the Assembly’s internal post,” Orhan Hajrizi said.

Several media outlets reported that LDK and Vetevendosje leaders were visibly absent from yesterday’s ceremony where the former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright were among the many speakers. Express also quoted LDK spokesperson Besian Mustafa saying they received no invitation to attend the ceremony. Meanwhile, Albulena Haxhiu from Vetevendosje told Telegrafi that they did receive invitations and that some of their officials did attend the event.
